Hydraulic Control Valves are used on the purpose of on/ off and regulation, utilizing the pressure of the working fluid flowing through itself as the source of actuating energy. The mechanical part acting as actuator is a diaphragm or a piston, having an effective area larger than the port of the valve. This larger actuator area difference produces bigger control forces than required to close the valve, stopping the flow to the zeroflow condition. The actuator pressure is adjusted by so called control pilots sometimes more than one to control the valve in any position varying continuously.
According to the type of actuation, the hydraulic control valves are in 3 types of design.
1. Diaphragm Actuated Diaphragm Controlled Valves ( F pattern – Type DRF )
2. Diaphragm Actuated Plug Controlled Valves ( Y pattern – Type DRY )
3. Piston Actuated Plug Controlled Valves ( G pattern – Type DRG )
